Renault Wind 1.6 Dynamique (2011) long-term test review

A few weeks back someone asked me ‘Does the Renault Wind roof really retract in 12 seconds?’ I’d never timed it before – all I knew was that it was pretty quick and that's all I really needed to know. Does it matter if it’s 12 seconds, 10sec or 15sec? I’m not too fussed, so long as I’m not waiting all day.

So I dusted down my stopwatch and put the Wind’s folding hard-top to the test. It seemed appropriate; dare I say it for fear of jinxing our early summer days, we’ve been blessed with sunshine here in the east Midlands. And yes, it does fold back and close away in 12 seconds. No complaints to the Advertising Standards Authority here.

However, there are a few niggles. Every time you lower the roof, the windows open all the way too. So once the roof is tucked away neatly, if you want the windows back up to avoid 'Wind' blast you have to manually hold the buttons down to put them up again. I counted and this takes a further eight seconds before you are ready to go.

Review And Specs nissan leaf

It seems that the electric car is back from the dead. You may have noticed that Nissan obviously no trend in hybrid cars. While other producers to pump more money into research and development of hybrid Nissan lead to a true all electric vehicle. The end result is the 2011 Nissan Leaf, the first mass produced all electric car to be placed on the sale of American consumers. The following is a description of the features and specifications.

The leaves have filled an estimated range of 100 miles.

There are two trim levels are available:

SV standard equipment includes keyless ignition, keyless entry, automatic climate control, 16-inch alloy wheels, power lock, power windows, cruise control, LED lights, tilt steering wheel, 60/40 folding rear seat, height adjustable driver’s seat, the computer travel, fabric made from recycled materials, Bluetooth, six-speaker sound system with CD player, auto dimming rear view mirrors, satellite radio, iPods and USB interface, additional audio connectivity and navigation system. Machine is 80 kilowatt synchronous electric motor powered by a battery 24 kWh lithium-ion batteries. Output of 107 horsepower and 207 pounds feet of torque. Standard safety equipment includes stability control, traction control, ABS brakes, airbags and side curtain airbags.

SL-Adding automatic lights, reversing cameras, solar panels mounted spoiler, fog lamps and cargo cover. All the machinery and safety standards remain the same.

All the leaves come standard with Nissan Nissan Connection, remote system that reports the battery data and to enable the climate control device.

BMW 3 Series 320ED driven

Industrial espionage must occur. This being so, other car makers should send henchmen to BMW's headquarters and kidnap the brains behind this 3-Series, then extract his wisdom. The man is a wizard.

This is the Efficient Dynamics version of the 320, and while that sounds tediously Germanic, it's also deeply impressive. Consider this: 10 years ago a 320d managed 50mpg and 152g/km CO2, figures that impressed at the time and would still beat some rivals today. A decade on, this one manages 69mpg and 109g/km, making it the first PremiumExecMobile to duck below the magic threshold of 110g. In fact, this is the most efficient BMW ever.

Chevrolet Of course, the demand for fuel-efficient vehicles tend to rise and fall of fuel prices, and public confidence, as things go. However, sales of small cars were rather low, even after the market bottom today.
